1. Question: For the in-person training, will the location be technology friendly? Example: Wi-Fi capability and/or there are no distractions in having good reception when using their own devices, Access to power/Charging stations.
Answer: The locations selected for training will be equipped with wi-fi capabilities and accessibility to charging outlets. While we cannot guarantee what the functionality will be during the actual training sessions, we fully expect functional and accessible connections.
2. Question: At the in person training will we receive printed materials to use during the training, however as for the information we bring back to our state it will be in an electronic format for distribution to the state.
Answer: All state agencies will have access to electronic copies of the training materials. Printed materials will be distributed to all attendees at the in-person training sessions.
3. Question: Is there a limit on the number of State Agency employees can participate in the training?
Answer: Currently there is no limit on the number of state agency employees that can participate at the in-person training sessions. It is important to note that the recommended positions to attend the in-person training sessions are those positions directly responsible for administering training and technical assistance to sponsors.
4. Question: This is a large undertaking, how can you all cover this much content in three days?
Answer: The 3-day training is designed to focus only the key areas of each topic.
5. Question: Will the At-Risk program be addressed in the materials?
Answer: There is only the Child and Adult Care Food Program. “At-Risk” is a component of CACFP and the requirements for sponsoring organizations are the same for all components of the Program.
6. Question: Will attendees get to attend all topics, or do we need to pick and choose?
Answer: The training is designed to cover the key areas of all topics during the 3 days allotted. The expectation is that participants attend all sessions.
7. Question: Will the training have specific financial accountability requirements for varying organization sizes?
Answer: There are no specific financial accountability requirements based on organization size.
8. Question: Do you have an agreement with Brighton to develop the online workshops?
Answer: Brighton Training Group is part of the CORE team and is the online training developer.
9. Question: Will regional staff be required to attend in person training?
Answer: FNS will work with RO management regarding staff attendance.
10. Question: Except for monitoring, will the training apply to independent centers?
Answer: The training is being developed specifically for sponsoring organizations; however, several of the topics will also apply to independent centers.
11. Question: Are you referring to fiscal year 2018 and 2019 or calendar year?
Answer: We anticipate that selected training resources will be available in 4th quarter of calendar year 2018; and in-person training sessions will be available in 1st quarter of calendar year 2019.
12. Question: Will the materials be in formats that can be manipulated by states, so we can add our state information? IE word, Excel
Answer: State agencies are encouraged to provide supplemental information detailing state specific guidelines related to the training content covered.
13. Question: If we use your training as corrective action will they receive something to show they attended the CORE training?
Answer: Online training participation will be tracked. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
14. Question: How can FNS or State agencies update the presentations/guides going forward? For example, if new policy is released.
Answer: This cooperative agreement has no provision for ongoing updates. FNS has the responsibility for updating the materials to align with any changing policies.
15. Question: Will the materials all be 508 compliant?
Answer: Yes, the materials will be 508 compliant.
16. Question: Is USDA requiring the training materials be utilized?
Answer: There is no requirement for the training materials to be used. However, FNS fully expects that States will incorporate this training at their discretion.
17. Question: Will the training materials be for sponsors of homes AND Centers? And if just to centers will it be for Affiliated AND Unaffiliated?
Answer: The training materials will be relevant to all sponsors of homes and centers.
18. Question: Can State Agencies use their Audit Funds (1.5%) be used to travel to these trainings?
Answer: Yes, audit funds may be used to cover the costs of attending the training.
19. Question: What product/platform is being used to create the online modules?
Answer: The Bright Track system is the platform for the online modules.
20. Question: Will users need log in accounts to access the online accounts?
Answer: Yes, users will create a profile to access the online training modules.
21. Question: Is the material available in the online trainings the same material that will be reviewed in the in-person training?
Answer: Only selected training topics will be presented online. The information presented in the online training will be the same information presented in the in-person training. The live virtual training will mirror the in-person training.
22. Question: How soon will the training locations be known to obtain state travel approvals?
Answer: We anticipate that the training locations will be solidified by 3rd quarter of calendar year 2018.
23. Question: Is meal pattern training be offered as part of CORE?
Answer: Currently, meal pattern training is not part of CORE.
24. Question: Regarding the anticipated timeline, is first quarter 2019, October, November, December?
Answer: We anticipate that selected training resources will be available in 4th quarter of calendar year 2018; and in-person training sessions will be available in 1st quarter of calendar year 2019.
25. Question: What are the cities/states for the in-person trainings?

26. Question: Will states have permission to modify the training presentations to “brand” them for their state?
Answer: The training presentations will be branded under CORE; however, state agencies are encouraged to provide supplemental information detailing state specific guidelines related to the training content covered.
27. Question: Will online training modules have audio included?
Answer: Online training modules will have audio and will also include captioning.
28. Question: Can states post the online modules to their own online training platforms?
Answer: State agencies will have access to a link that will directly connect users to the online training. This link can be posted to the State agency website.
29. Question: Does the CORE website track attendance?
Answer: The online training platform will track all users and their success with completing the training modules.
30. Question: Will you provide the online module training attendance to the states?
Answer: We will work with FNS to determine the type and frequency of reports available to state agencies related to online training participation.
31. Question: Is there a way to prevent our sponsors from viewing an online training if we have modified the training and posted it on our own trainings website?
Answer: The online training modules will be accessible to all sponsors.
32. Question: During the in-person trainings, will state agencies walk away with electronic versions of the guides and power points?
Answer: All state agencies will have access to electronic copies of the training materials. Printed materials will be distributed to all attendees at the in-person training sessions.
33. Question: Who is covering the cost of the training for state agencies to attend?
Answer: There is no registration or participation cost for state agencies to attend the training. However, state agencies are responsible for all meal and travel costs related to attending the training.
34. Question: Will other outside organizations that are not State Agencies (i.e. NCA, Sponsoring Organizations) have input on the development of the training materials?
Answer: Throughout the development process, FNS has sought feedback from stakeholders (e.g. NCA, NPA) through roundtables, webinars and phone conversations.
